Narrative Story

A Memorable Incident

It was about a couple of months after I came to Seattle. I was recommended to stay in an apartment, which is on Rainier Avenue South Street. I lived with my cousin in the same room without extra payment for that room. This is to say that I lived illegally there under the cover of those who are my friends. I must say that I met a few Vietnamese friends there, and they are kind of friendly, social, interpersonal, and so on. They opened their hearts to welcome me to Seattle. I first felt like I was coming into a warm nest, which made me feel safe and sound.

After the first day, we spent the whole time getting to know each other. We went to Lake Washington, for example, and threw stones onto the surface of the water. It looked like a gang of fish jumping out of the water and then falling down at once. Also, we sat on the grass, which is in the middle of the lawn in front of Lake Washington, is as smooth as silk, and we enjoyed the fabulous view of Lake Washington as well. You can see the scene of that spot seemed to be like a picture of the sunset as far as the horizon. The sun seemed to be gradually moving down under the water. It took my breath away as if I was standing on the top of the peak of the mountains at that moment.

Somehow, it couldn’t last forever. A few days later, the owner of the apartment suddenly found out that I lived illegally in some way. Perhaps he ran into me at home, but I didn’t know him, or there was a camera available elsewhere in the house, for example, that nobody knows. Ultimately, he gave me three days to move out, so I had to study and find a new apartment at the same time within three days. I had a variety of stuff to do, and I was as busy as a beaver at that time. My friends and I searched for a new apartment on the Internet, for instance, or in the newspapers, as if we were looking for a needle between such great oceans. Eventually, thanks to my all housemates, I rented a new apartment with a reasonable price, which is nearby school. I took a deep breath and felt relieved at once.

All in all, deep down, I am really delighted to have such friends by my side. From that day on, our friendship is more and more solid as diamonds. Nothing can make us go our separate ways or split up with each other. Even though we live in a different apartment, we have been in touch till now anyway.
